Star rating: 3/5
Summary from Goodreads
For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human… until the cold makes him shift back again. Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.
I had a hard time getting through this one. It took me way too long to read this book. Usually a book will hook me and I will finish in a couple days, only putting it down when I have too.
The writing wasn’t bad and I enjoyed the overall story line. I wanted to know how the story was going to end, I just felt like it was dragging it's feet. I found myself getting bored. It was taking too long to get from one exciting moment to the next. As a result I would put the book down for a while and then force myself to pick it back up and try to finish it.
The story started moving at a better pace closer to the end and I found myself enjoying it much more. I did like the way this book ended, good set up for the next book.
Overall it wasn’t one of my favorite books but it wasn’t terrible, however I’m unsure if I will read the others.
